Floor Framing    4 Classroom Hours  - 2 class sessions

Basic Design and Wood Floor Framing Requirements in the IRC is a four hour program that covers the basic residential design requirements and wood floor framing requirements in the 2006 International Residential Code.  It starts with the basic design and loading requirements followed by sill plates and the problems with the new preservative treated lumber and connector problems related to the new generation treatments.  It then takes the audience through framing a floor with solid sawn lumber, engineered wood-I joists and parallel chord trusses.  It covers notching and boring requirements, headering off openings in the floor system and the proper use of joist hangers.  There are also short sections on stair framing and the proper use and connection of beams.  The program concludes with the proper selection and application of the sub-flooring material.  This program is essential for designers, builders and framers.
