Stucco Application                                                 2 Classroom Hours          

This program will provide contractors, stucco applicators, building inspectors and designers with a detailed overview of the Johnson County Stucco Application Guidelines which are based on national ASTM Standards.  Special emphasis will be placed on proper window installation and flashing, as well as the correct application of the secondary drainage plane.  We will discuss how these elements work in concert to keep water and moisture out of the structure.  Participants will be able to:

• Determine the correct application of the secondary drainage plane and integrating it with window and door openings.
• Identify how to correctly attach the Grade D paper and lath.
• Determine the correct accessories to use and how they should be applied, such as 66, corner bead, control joints and weep screed.
